If I was going to look for them I would start in Bull Creek.

Today's release is tomorrows gift to another fisherman.

I caught a few decent ones in the spring right below the dam when they were running a good bit of water. Also caught a really nice fat 17 inch just down a couple hundred yards from Fall Creek in the bigger chunk rock in the middle of the summer. All were caught on jigs I believe olive in color. Hope this helps.

weighed one that a guy caught in june of 2008 right at outlet 1. It weighed 4 and a half pounds and he caught it on some kind of rapala minnow type lure. I caught a couple small ones on an olive wollie bugger the same day both near outlet 1. My understanding is that during periods of generation that are closer to normal the smallie fishing can be quite good on the lower stretches. For what it's worth the guy that caught the big smallie also had a stringer of some very nice walleyes.

I have caught 2 to 3 pounders in the 8 years Ive lived here, all have been below Bull creek. Have caught less than 15 of this size. Lots of small fish up Bull Creek some times, but you have to go up as far as possible to get the most. Most of the bigger fish were caught in shallow water close to the bank.

We caught a pretty nice smallmouth this weekend right near monkey island on a shad rap. Thought we had a solid trout for the tournament until we got it close to the boat.
