Ham Posted May 13, 2012 Posted May 13, 2012 I found a 4 plus foot chunk of rail in the middle of a small road in Virginia. I dodged it and then got out to throw it in the back of the truck to use later and get it out of the road. I had NO idea it was going to be that heavy. I got it in the truck, but it was no easy snatch and lift. Every Saint has a past, every Sinner has a future. On Instagram @hamneedstofish
Jeff Tief Posted May 14, 2012 Posted May 14, 2012 Chief, the mainline between Bismarck and Ste.Gen is only used as you said in emergencies when the Mississippi floods the BN north of Ste.Gen The local out of Bismarck goes to the old Flat River glass and to Orica at Bonne Terre twice a week then to Desoto 3 days a week. You hang a left at Derby Jct.to go to Bonne Terre. The North end has parts of the old M&I between Crystal City and Riverside ;the local out of Ste.Gen works Shapiro and Jones Chemical.Al Agnew has a couple of brother-in-laws who retired out of Ste.Gen and know a lot more of the history of the old M&I as they primarily worked either Ste.Gen,Bonne Terre or other locales within their seniority districts.I like you spent a winter in Ks.and worked out of St.Louis,Poplar Bluff and Bismarck.
