Billfo Posted February 26, 2012 Posted February 26, 2012 My trim isnt holding. Slowly goes back down as if it were loosing holding pressure. Have not noticed any leaking fluids (but have not looked real close) Is this a DYI repair or is it best to take it in. Thanks, Email me Red-Right-Returning is for quitters !
fishinwrench Posted February 26, 2012 Posted February 26, 2012 Most common cause is a snapped O-ring on the manual release valve. Or a manual release valve that isn't seated good. Back it off a few turns then retighten it, if that doesn't fix the leak-down then it'll need to go to the shop (removing a broken valve without leaving a piece behind is a tricky procedure).
MoSportsmen Posted February 26, 2012 Posted February 26, 2012 I have had problems with trims that never leaked noticably but checked the level, filled it up and no more problem. Be a first step anyway. Tom Messing about in boats
Billfo Posted March 10, 2012 Author Posted March 10, 2012 Once I identify that valve, I will give that a try. Thanks. Bill Most common cause is a snapped O-ring on the manual release valve.
