Just wondering if anywone can give me any good information on Walleye fishing at Stockton. Planning on going this week. We've been out 6 times so far. Only yesterday did we finally catch some fish (Crappie), I take that back, Wednesday we caught a 12" Shad... lol Haven't gottten to do a lot of fishing the last 5 years, mostly been in Iraq/Afghanistan the whole time... So, out making up for lost fishing time!!!

Just needing some help on catching fish. I've searched and I've read and read on here for tips. Just not having much luck. Conservation agent stopped us the other day and told us that when the water temp hits 50* it'll be time. Well, yesterday we saw 47-49* water temps! We put in at CC Bridge and went left from the dock.

If you could maybe let me know a few good spots, it would be greatly apprecieated!! I'm not familiar with any of the "names" that people have, like Chicken rock etc...

Also, yesterday, didn't have any luck until 3, was in the water at 8 am lol. When we finally started catching fish, they were in 25' of water, supspended at 15'. We were trolling and caught 10 in about an hour. The were caught on: 5 - 2" Swimmer baits in blue/silver and perch, 3 on 1/4 oz White Crappie jig, and 2 on a 4" Rapala black/silver crank.

Thanks and Good Luck fishing!

Your, yesterday, trip was very tipical for a "winter-time" fishing trip... The Conservation agent was right on the money about the water temp.. To clairify general water temp of 50 and pockets of 55-60..

In the winter if you get on the water before mid-day it is just because you enjoy the sunrise..... Being "new" to the lake, you really need to get a contour map to find the areas talked about on the forums...

I haven't fished Stockton. PM Martin or rangerman. They have. In private they may give up a a technique or a spot or two. If that time out of country was in uniform, I thank you for your service.

Have you thought about hiring Marty or Bob to take you out walleye fishing?

Let me preface this with the fact I haven't fished Stockton pre-spawn. If the walleye are in fact still pre-spawn, I'd fish staging areas like points of coves with feeder creeks/rivers. Points near the dam or the rip rap along the dam may work as well. Casting suspended stick baits especially at night is a popular presentation. Might try trolling spinner rigs or drifting a lindy rig near the points. Don't be afraid to fish shallow. I'm sure others will check in with more local info and maybe some spots to try. Best of luck!
