Fished for a few hours tonight. Went straight to the flats between. Outlets. 1 and 2. Picked up fish on just about every thing I threw. Fast strip, slow strip and dead drift all would work, but only once or twice on each color. No real pattern, had to keep changing it up. Biggest was about 18 inches on the green and white minnow fly. Saw 2 others show up carrying a lantern around and fishing with it on. They only stuck around for an hour or two before giving up. I wanted to ask them if they caught anything with all that light on, but they took off before I worked my way over too them. Its been my experience that night fishing for trout and lights don't make for very many fish caught???

I was out late tonight and I did admire the weather. Part of me wanted to go down there and try my luck but it's a bit too far before a work night. Glad to read your report though. Sounds productive but tough.

Yeah biggest mistake people make when I take them night fishing for the first time is the light. Its very tempting, but it will spook fish I think.

I like using a headlamp that has a red light. Astronomers use red flashlights while at observatories so their eyes can remain adjusted to the dark.
