Members Tom Tricamo Posted March 1, 2012 Members Posted March 1, 2012 What would you guys recommend for watercraft on the Current River? It seems as though there are restrictions in the Ribbon Trout areas. Just trying to figure out the best way to fish the Current. Jon Boat? Canoe? Either with stops along the way to fish pools? Any help is greatly appreciated.
Greasy B Posted March 1, 2012 Posted March 1, 2012 From Baptist Camp to Cedar Grove the river is definitely canoe & yak water. Some stretches are no wider than a fly rod is long. Below Akers it's John boat-able. His father touches the Claw in spite of Kevin's warnings and breaks two legs just as a thunderstorm tears the house apart. Kevin runs away with the Claw. He becomes captain of the Greasy Bastard, a small ship carrying rubber goods between England and Burma. Michael Palin, Terry Jones, 1974
Gavin Posted March 2, 2012 Posted March 2, 2012 I'd go with a canoe or kayak for the water above Two Rivers..A jon boat would be preferable below there. Legally...you can run a 25hp all the way up to Akers all year long....further up in the off season.
Members Tom Tricamo Posted March 2, 2012 Author Members Posted March 2, 2012 thanks for the reply guys. I've posted a more general thread in another sub-forum in regards to a "one size fits all" boat for Ozark streams http://forums.ozarkanglers.com/index.php?showtopic=32358 Thanks again! Tom
