I will bet at TR from 3-28 to 4-1, and I am very excited. I was wondering one thing though, am I flat out wasting my time if I don't use an A-rig? That is the only aspect of the A-rig that doesn't sit well with me. It appears that if you don't use it you may as well not even fish. I know I am being a bit simplistic (obviously you can catch fish on something else), but I have seen this happen at LOZ. They are saying that if you are in a tourney, you better throw the A-Rig or else don't even enter, for some reason that is depressing to me (I don't fish tourneys by the way). If that's the case what chance does an average guy like me have if I'm not using it? Does it come down to the old addage "If you can't beat 'em, join 'em"?

absolutley not! there is a good bottom bite coming on in 15 to 20 ft of water on the gravel points. throwing a grub and a tube bait not to mention by the end of the month theirs gonna be beds all over the place if this weather holds up. mike what people are doing with this a-rig is not new people have been catching these suspended fish for years on a multitude of baits (swimjig, stickbait)to name a couple and many others but with the presentation of five baits with three of them having hooks its just a different look and of course your catch rate is going to double or even triple. i have fished this rig with success but i am yet to go out with nothing but a rig on the deck of my boat. i would say you would not be wasting your time if you didnt throw the rig the water is warming every day and by the end of the month you should be able to catch fish on just about anything in your box so come on down and enjoy the fishing on the rock

When fishing gets slow on the Rock and you are not fishing a tourney the best thing I have found(even better than an A-rig) for slow days is a live night crawler on a drop shot. I don't think there is a type of fish that I have not hooked that swims in Table Rock by just lowering a live worm to those arches on the depth finder.

So if you are fishing for fun, I would recommend picking up a dozen crawlers for plan B over any other plan. My self I would rather land a 10lb cat then beat the shore all day during one of those windless bluebird days when they just won't turn on, I don't do it often but it has saved a day or two for me.

I agree with everything, everyone else said. I'll be down in a few weeks too, for a tourney I've fished for years. I'll bring the a-rig; but I'm gonna stick with the ole standbys for what could very well be the 'different' look at the time?......if that makes sense?:-)
