Feathers and Fins Posted March 13, 2012 Author Posted March 13, 2012 If the lap top battery would hold out I would but it wasnt doing so well. Maybe next time i can get some live shots of the stripers chasing the shad up on shore. https://www.facebook.com/pages/Beaver-Lake-Arkansas-Fishing-Report/745541178798856
Members Wildeye Posted March 13, 2012 Members Posted March 13, 2012 Hope I can get 3g on the phone next week and see my party in the background of your live reports catching some linesides! We are camping at Horseshoe, probably try to find some in the backs of the creeks in that are before heading up that way. Good reports FNF!
Feathers and Fins Posted March 13, 2012 Author Posted March 13, 2012 Wildeye, Dont waste your time in Horshoe the stripers ate loaded up thick in Prairie creek and Avoca. With some seriously large LMB and SMB. They are all full of eggs so my bet is they will gravitate more to PC in the next week or two to the running water comming in from the creek. Everyone thinks of War Eagle and the River as to where they spawn but PC has possibly even more fish with its cleaner water. https://www.facebook.com/pages/Beaver-Lake-Arkansas-Fishing-Report/745541178798856
Guest Posted March 13, 2012 Posted March 13, 2012 Can you elaborate on your cast net setup? does walmart carry a cat net thats worthy of catching shad? the one I from wally world was better suited for shallow water, seemed like current or deep water made it a non factor. Those are some nice fish by the way
Members Rennurdoar Posted March 13, 2012 Members Posted March 13, 2012 We are heading up to PC now to try our luck. We've been fishing south of war eagle avout 5 miles, white river arm I guess.. we caught 1 31" striper, our first time trying and first ever. Water is REALLY muddy now, less than a foot of visibility. Also caught two 14" crappie yesterday trolling. Hopefully we catch some at PC!
Feathers and Fins Posted March 13, 2012 Author Posted March 13, 2012 Im just using a 6ft cast net from Academy works just fine. Im actually afraid if i threw my 16ft net what would happen lol https://www.facebook.com/pages/Beaver-Lake-Arkansas-Fishing-Report/745541178798856

Members Wildeye Posted March 13, 2012 Members Posted March 13, 2012 Thanks FnF, will be in a blue Blue Wave, come say Hi if you see us. Are there campsites at Prairie Creek that you can beach a boat at?
Feathers and Fins Posted March 14, 2012 Author Posted March 14, 2012 Stump, I have actually had a 160lbs tarpon in it and the one before it had a 200lbs bull shark in it. You never know what your going to get throwing it off the Roosevelt Bridge in Stuart Florida for mullet. They are actually easy to throw after practice. I used mine for Mullet and Menhaden which tarpon, snook and redfish love.. Spinner sharks love them more though lol. Wild, PC has a camping site but i dont think its open yet and i wouldnt leave a boat beached overnight ever on Beaver near a camp ground. the sites at all the ACE Sites are big enough to pull the boat next to a camper or rv from what ive seen. https://www.facebook.com/pages/Beaver-Lake-Arkansas-Fishing-Report/745541178798856
