Addicted to Creeks Posted March 15, 2012 Posted March 15, 2012 managed to get out to the Clarence Cannon Dam out of Mark Twain Lake today to chase some white bass, The lake is low, the river is clear, but the fishing was not off. Throwing 4 inch jointed rapalas and sassy shads we managed to find schools and do well, the fish seem smaller this year only landed a few around 1.5 lbs but it was fun and it felt great to be beside a river again. as an aside i managed to get the fly rod out on some bass in a neighbors pond a few days ago and managed to catch my largest bass yet on the long rod. (15 inches don't get too excited ) short version of this post : spring is here, lets hit the water Fish always lose by being "got in and dressed." It is best to weigh them while they are in the water. The only really large one I ever caught got away with my leader when I first struck him. He weighed ten pounds. —Charles Dudley Warner
fishinwrench Posted March 15, 2012 Posted March 15, 2012 Excellent! You should take the fly rod to those Whites, it's the most fun a guy can have with his clothes on. What were you throwing at the pond bass?
