Fished McCord Bend up to Blunks on Monday and Tuesday late afternoon/night. Both nights were really slow. We caught 9 on Monday night and only 5 on Tuesday. Caught most of them right at dusk on XRAP and Purple Swimming Minnows. Talked to a lot of boats and for the most part everyone had the same report.

On Tuesday I put in a Blunks and worked my way down to Walnut Springs. Looked like most of the boats were trolling for whites. Talked to a couple down there and they all said about the same thing...SLOOOWWWW

Did not make it down last night but was considering getting out tonight or tomorrow. Has anyone had any luck last night or this morning?

Thanks

Ducky that is how it was Monday and Tuesday night...I counted 14 boats from the two big rocks to Mccord Bend that weren't 50 feet from the bank..that is where we caught ours but just could not get a pattern on them.

I think a good rain would be best...

Do you think that the fact that there is basically ZERO current right now has anything to do with it? It seems like there is always some current but not this year. I fight the wind more than the current trying to hold the boat still.

It is only the 15th and real early.

I agree with Wayne, think you guys are jumping the gun because of the nice weather. Most of your catches from previous years were into april a week or so.

Were still early yet. Favorite time to fish them is 1st week of April

I haven't gone yet, but it's the same every year. I start fishing in March and start catching in April. That's for white bass and crappie both - and I really think the length of daylight gets them going more than water temp, weather, or any other factor in the spring.

Biologist say that a water temp in the upper 50's is the key.
