We are headed over to the james river

and flat creek area in the morning, anyone heard of any spoonbill being caught yet?

I don't go for them but have seen them on my downscan screen every trip down that way. One day I noticed 7 different one was swimming under the boat.

We hammered them good between 1-5am the first night. Mostly small males but did have a couple sows near 60 pounds. Last night wasnt as good due to boats having them stirred up. Only caught three small males last night.

Thinking about taking my kids spoonbillin in the next week or so. Any advice on where to buy sinkers and hooks? Are there any local tackle shops that sell spoonbill equipment?

I dont know where you are coming from but speedee's gas station in Galena is the cheapest I have seen. Hooks for 69cents 10 ounce sinkers for 1.79. Bass Pro is over double that.

I wasn't real thrilled to see this left next to the parking lot at Bridgeport yesterday but they must be catching a few in that area.
