Members captain belly Posted March 18, 2012 Members Posted March 18, 2012 Mounting anything in a jon boat can be a challenge, esp with no console or ledges to mount to. I really wanted to mount my fishfinder on something that looked better than the usual 'rigged-up' 'block of wood' that rots over time. I made a mount that I'm very pleased with. It looks and works great! I made a You Tube video on how I did it. Let me know what you think. The cost was less than $10.
fishinwrench Posted March 19, 2012 Posted March 19, 2012 You're almost there Hoss, add 2 more sheet metal screws and its officially Redneck
Drbucketmouth57 Posted March 20, 2012 Posted March 20, 2012 Don`t need no stinkin fish finder. I`m my fish finder !!
gramps50 Posted April 11, 2012 Posted April 11, 2012 Pretty close to what was in my boat when I bought it. My mount didn't swivel so I added a Johnny Ray swivel mount http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00144BAYG/ref=oh_o01_s02_i00_details
fishinwrench Posted April 11, 2012 Posted April 11, 2012 The ONLY way to go for a basic jon layout, IMO http://www.basspro.com/RAM-Mountsreg;-Universal-Ball-Socket-Electronics-Mount-for-Lighter-Weight-Units--Rectangular-Mounting-Plate--RAM-B-111/product/98613/120121?cmCat=CROSSSELL_PRODUCT
fishinwrench Posted April 11, 2012 Posted April 11, 2012 Don`t need no stinkin fish finder. I`m my fish finder !! In your (and my) case, lets refer to it as a "depth finder", and LETS USE IT ! At least until the warranty period has expired on that fresh set of gears
