GloryDaze Posted March 20, 2012 Posted March 20, 2012 Am I right in seeing the rain is missing the watershed so far? Wanting to float this weekend close to KC and I'm thinking the Little Niangua may just be the ticket. Can anyone help me with river conditions? Thanks! Follow me on Twitter @DazeGlory
Wayne SW/MO Posted March 20, 2012 Posted March 20, 2012 I think we're all waiting because it isn't over yet. Today's release is tomorrows gift to another fisherman.
fishinwrench Posted March 20, 2012 Posted March 20, 2012 The gage is correct. Although the radar showed us in the Red & Yellow for most of the night, we got nothing more than a light shower that lasted about 35 minutes. I think they need to back the sensitivity knob off just a tad on that radar image.
Members caseysmith14 Posted March 21, 2012 Members Posted March 21, 2012 Been keeping a close eye on it myself. Appears its starting to recede a little bit now. Still planning to put in at Cedar Camp Fri evening and float down to Greenmill by Sunday but may call tonight to see how it's looking. Hope the fluctuating water doesn't mess up the fishing too bad.
Wayne SW/MO Posted March 21, 2012 Posted March 21, 2012 Appears its starting to recede a little bit now. You realize it is still raining? I would keep a real close eye on it. Today's release is tomorrows gift to another fisherman.
fishinwrench Posted March 21, 2012 Posted March 21, 2012 If you're targeting smallies I think you may be screwed for Friday on the lower LN. You might be better off up higher (Mule shoe area) as it will settle down and clear up alot sooner.

I try to monitor the data but also be as optimistic as humanly possible! Called Cedar Camp and they said the weekend is looking real iffy, they said water is going over the bridge and it's most certainly in flood stage right now. I have kept an eye on the gage reading but the last reading was at 3:30pm and it doesn't appear to have been updated since. Is that fairly common to miss readings like that? I have looked at the 2 below links, are there better sites to look at? http://waterdata.usg...ite_no=06925250 http://weather.hamwe...auge/LNIM7.html
fishinwrench Posted March 22, 2012 Posted March 22, 2012 Hmmm, gage is down. last reading was at 3:30pm. Someone needs to go clear the debris and restore power to it. Wonder what that job pays?
Members caseysmith14 Posted March 22, 2012 Members Posted March 22, 2012 dohhhh! Well I'm sitting on some nice T-Bone steaks and chicken wings just begging to be grilled up over a camp fire on the bank of the river so I suppose we're goin regardless.... My trip report may just include pic's from a campground:(
fishinwrench Posted March 22, 2012 Posted March 22, 2012 Well if it isn't straightened out by the time you get there will you please take a rake and a pair of pliers and fix the gage You might be able to send a bill to the USGS for the service call and fund your trip.
