Smallmouth Spawn

I have never heard anybody talk much about when, or where the Smallies spawn? If anybody has any experience they would like to share I would be interested to know more about this.

I'll have to try the stupid style. looks like it will work well. Flooded parking lots and the gravel roads leading to them have been a great spot for me when Bull has been up so high during the last few years. If you know where they are it's a great way to catch fish without loosing baits in the trees. They also work well with the drop shot.

I used to fish tubes a lot. There was a brand called Oldham's jig heads that had a wire that you could hook under the barb and make them extremely weedlees, then Bass pro started making them and I have not seen them in a while. I used to use them all of the time, in fact I caught a smallie a little over 6lbs from Melvern Lake in KS, just a few ounces off the state record at the time (which has been broken a few times since), on the weedless tube jig mentioned above. I have beev thinking about using it again at LOZ skipped under docks, and now I will try it with the stupid rig, thanks for the info.
