We had a big condo, guest house on the lake for fathers day weekend set up by my nephew.......then it all fell through. I don't even know where it was or what it's name was.

Wanting to find somewhere on the lake not too awfull far from the tourist spots (cause the whole fam is going and not entretained by fishing 12 hours a day) Cabin type kitchen included, moderate to cheep price, docks, pool.

Any sugestions? I better get this done soon to get reservations for fathers day.

Runaway 2 Resort (This will be my first year here). Lake Veiw Resort. Alhonna Resort. Rock Harbor Resor, Bass Point Resort. I have stayed at all of these and would rate them in the order i wrote them.

I would recommend checking out the Alhonna Resort on Horseshoe Bend(8mm by water). I have been visiting them exclusively over the past three years and know of no better place to stay. They are close to all area attractions, very family oriented with comfortable and fair priced accomodations. They have several docks on the property with two boat launches and all the rental boats you could choose from. Indoor and outdoor pools with two hot tubs,on site restaurant and bar with simple groceries and supplies with a game room as well. Also has probably the best dock fishing for crappie on the entire lake and have bait on site. Definitely recommend checking them out either on the net(just type in Alhonna resort in you search box to see all that they have to offer) and their staff is second to none. Enjoy.

I have stayed at all of the places that Jack noted also, and I would place Runaway at the end of that list. If you are going to have a big family going down, check out www.vrbo.com they have condos and houses for rent that are owned by individuals. I have rented several places off of that site in the past. They are not just lake of the ozarks, they are world wide. I have yet to be disipointed with a place I rented on vrbo, can't say the same for so called "resorts" on lake of the ozarks.

I would second Alhonna, we are on the other side of the lake, right across from there and go there for breakfast from time to time. It would be a good place to take a family and the kids would like the pools and docks and stuff.

We used to stay at Robin's Resort in the heart of Osage Beach. They have some old-shcool cabins, and some newer condos. Right an the mouth of the Glaize off the main channel, visible from the Grand Glaize Bride. Close to outlet malls for the gals, has a pool for the kids, crappie wells at the ends of docks for evening fishing. Also, the main point and cove back to the docks are good fishing and easily acccessible from the bank.

I do agree about Alhonna. I keep forgetting that i only come down once a year and it is the first week of April (guys fishing trip). So i forget about all the neat stuff for families during the normal season. The one thing nice about both Alhonna and Lake Veiw both is the pool is year round and both have a enclosed fishing dock house. Always nice when the weather is not nice. You cant go wrong either way. I do also have a friend that lives on the VRBO thing and swears by it. Good luck and have fun. I'm actauly leaving work right now so that we can drive down to the Ozarks for our crappie fishing trip this weekend.

I would recommend Golden Horseshoe Resort, they are cheaper than Alhonna and resort is clean, they are just around the corner from Alhonna

Thanks for all the sugestions. Helped me a lot. We dumped the side of the family that is so worried about being close to the outlet mals so I chose to get away to Runnaway 2.....looks like my kind of place. The phone conversations have been impressive as far as people being very friendly and helpfull.
