ollie Posted April 9, 2012 Posted April 9, 2012 Monte Ne, absolute classic. All you can eat fried chicken and good too! "you can always beat the keeper, but you can never beat the post" There are only three things in life that are certain : death, taxes, and the wind blowing at Capps Creek!
Members Bass Ivy Posted April 9, 2012 Members Posted April 9, 2012 Cannonball BBQ Hwy 62 and 72 Junction. On 62 East out of Rogers Go through Avoca Right before the the hwy 72 Junction It will be on your left.
Members Dan Sweeney Posted April 10, 2012 Members Posted April 10, 2012 Has Wesners in Downtown Rogers made the cut yet? That is a darn good place. Also, if you can catch him (sometimes her) during a weekday lunch, the Maggie's Hot Dog cart that sets up near the Frisco railroad car is pretty neat. If you are after breakfast on the way out early in the morning, Daylight Donuts has good donuts and better ham/cheese/sausage things. And the coffee is tolerable if not great. Jiffy Kwik has the best store bought BLT around, and the other deli sandwiches are really good too. I often lunch at that station. It seriously breaks the "Don't eat at a place with fuel pumps" rule. If you are way down the lake, The Bus Stop in Garfield is excellent, and while you're out there if you really want to kill some time and cash on a weekend evening, Across the Creek is an absurdly good seafood fiasco. Silence is golden.
Members Dan Sweeney Posted April 10, 2012 Members Posted April 10, 2012 Oh yeah, and next door to The Rail is The Iron Horse. It's a coffee shop, and you may get some odd looks from the yuppie crowd, but their sandwiches are top notch. The Zeus is pretty hearty and has some punch and tasts fine. Silence is golden.
Members rhondafish Posted April 11, 2012 Members Posted April 11, 2012 If you go to the Buss Stop in Garfield and get an ice cream cone (Recommended) be sure to get a child's small size...everything else, you'll never finish it before it melts
Mr. Ed Posted April 12, 2012 Posted April 12, 2012 I can't remeber the name of the place and even couldn't tell you where it was... other then pretty close to the lake and I believe the Garfield area. Buffet all you can eat... I think I had crab legs. Ring a bell to anyone???
Members wormer Posted April 12, 2012 Members Posted April 12, 2012 I think it is Across the Creek or something like that.
