Members Dollar Bill Posted April 6, 2012 Members Posted April 6, 2012 Got the yard mowed this morning so I caved and went back to the same spot I had a limit yesterday... in 10 hours! The weather had done a complete 180 but the fish were still there. Had my limit in just under 3 hours today. If the wind wasn't so strong it could have been quicker.. Even mix of keepers and shorts but the overall quality was better today than yesterday. Same deal, drop a minnow either on a hook or a jig down to 6 foot deep and thump. They were hitting it hard today. Many came of stumps but many were caught just drifting down the bank, rod in each hand. I assume they were relating to some tree tops or brush piles but they may have just been suspended. What was cool is I could see them on the graph under my trolling motor as I drifted along and almost every time, whack! Never did throw at the bank so I don't know if they were shallow or not. Mine came in 12 to 20 feet of water. Had some time left so I went bass fishing and did pretty good with a senko where it was clearer and calmer and a white spinnerbait where the water was off color or windy. Fished mostly shallow backs of coves stuff. Had 3 smaller keepers and a dozen or so shorts. bill Is this fun or what!
straw hat Posted April 6, 2012 Posted April 6, 2012 Good report Dollar Bill. Thanks for the info. I wish my trip had been as good!!!
dennis boatman Posted April 6, 2012 Posted April 6, 2012 ...exactly how it was for me on Wednesday...Seems the size this year is really good...I've only caught 2 short fish...average between 11 and 12 inches...caught one 13 incher...going back this afternoon...What's up with all the moss...to warm of a winter? never seen it like this... A strike indicator is just a bobber...
