twosets Posted September 26, 2006 Posted September 26, 2006 Had a great time on the river Sunday on a trip guided by Ryan. He warned us that the water would be up and extremely murkey which would make fishing conditions difficult, but we were there and decided to go anyway. We put in at Whiten and drifted to Riverton and the water was indeed up about a foot and moving at a pretty good clip. It was also very cloudy, but we had clear weather after a lot of rain on Saturday and did not see another soul on the river. I caught a couple of decent smallies, and oh yah, my wife Stacey landed a 24" hooked-jaw male rainbow, the fish of a lifetime for her. (Certainly much bigger than anything 2sheds has ever managed on all of his trips on this river.) It ranks her ahead of Grandpa Steff and myself and only behind midgelover in terms of family rainbows. This does not seem to want me to attach a photo, I will send one to Brian and have him attach one. It was our first time on the 11-point and we enjoyed it a lot. Our thanks to Brian and Ryan. superfly Posted September 26, 2006 Posted September 26, 2006 George, What did your wife catch that big bow on and did you release it. Matt
Root Admin Phil Lilley Posted September 26, 2006 Root Admin Posted September 26, 2006 Hey George... where's Stacy??
twosets Posted September 26, 2006 Author Posted September 26, 2006 We were smallmouth fishing in very cloudy water and she caught it on a bright silver shad-rap type bait. You should have seen the bend it put in the rod that my dad made for me, like a question mark. The reason Stacey is not in the picture is 1) I am much better looking than her (not) 2) She didn't want to touch it (true) 3) She was very anxious about getting it back into the water asap and seeing it swim away unharmed (also true) The fish was released in good shape. Root Admin Phil Lilley Posted September 26, 2006 Root Admin Posted September 26, 2006 Ah... I guess that will work. Your parents are having a good time here. Caught more fish than Babler think morning- that's saying something.
2sheds Posted October 2, 2006 Posted October 2, 2006 Nice fish, Stacey. You'll have to show me where you caught it when we go out canoeing next summer. -Bob
