Bird Watcher
Nice Marty! That's a pretty bird. I abandoned the bow. I lost two birds in two days in KS. I wish I would have missed them. It made me sick. I don't think I can shoot another arrow at one. I know a lot of guys(and gals) get it done with one, I'm not one of them I guess. I have managed two with the shotgun. One in MO and one in KS. The one in MO had the longest beard I've ever had on a Turkey and it was double bearded. a 12" and 10" beard. It came from about 15 miles west of you. Weirdly, it was the second turkey I heard of Yesterday with a 12" and 10" beard. I wonder if the lack of snow and ice made the beards a little longer this spring? I've always heard they get matted with ice during the winter and break the tips off. Anyhow, good work and congratulations. Here's mine so far. BilletHead
Thanks fellows, Chris I like the disguise I thought of posing with my full guillie suit on but couldn't get the dog to snap the photo:) Makes sense about the beard thing. I have a friend over by Collins. He is as honest as they come. He got his biggest yesterday of a bunch of years hunting. 25lbs, 10.5" beard and get this, 1 3/8" and 1 7/8" spurs. What a stud he said!
