mic Posted April 17, 2012 Posted April 17, 2012 After almost busting my arse mulitiple times on slick rock last year, I was looking for a good wet wading shoe that uses felt or cleats. I put it off for the cost, but I recently purchased Simms RipRap Shoe with Simm's Vibram sole. I really like these shoes so far. They are cool, comfortable, and seem to keep river gravel out. However, I haven't tried them on true "slick bedrock" yet. I'll update when I can try that out. Wet Lines, MIC
stlfisher Posted April 17, 2012 Posted April 17, 2012 I have thought about buying a pair of those shoes. I'd be very interested to hear how they perform on slick rock.
joeD Posted April 17, 2012 Posted April 17, 2012 I have an older version of that shoe. I think three years old. They're perfect. I especially like the hard toe. I also bought the Simms neoprene wading sock to go with. It's very thin, and does a decent job keeping rocks out. Very satisfied. Expensive, though (what Simms product isn't?). As far has traction on slick rocks, I don't know, because if a rock is slippery, I try not to stand or walk on it (them).
