Feathers and Fins Posted April 18, 2012 Author Posted April 18, 2012 I actually like that Beaver doesnt get any notoriety, Think about it Bull Shoals in known for Walleye and gets Crowded and heavily pressured. Lake Quachita is know for its huge stripers, Table Rock for its Small Mouth and Grand Lake for its Catfish. All get crowded and heavily pressured. Yet here we have this Jewel sitting right in our back door. Most days even at the height of summer I can still find a quiet cove or have a area of fish all to myself. I like our little unacknoledged lake. Sure conditions on her change daily heck hourly somethimes but thats what makes her so neat, the challenge of figuring out the lady. https://www.facebook.com/pages/Beaver-Lake-Arkansas-Fishing-Report/745541178798856
wc1063 Posted April 19, 2012 Posted April 19, 2012 Went out today from 4:30 til dark, caught 2 LM and 2 small white bass. Didn't see any surface feeding tonight.
jeb Posted April 19, 2012 Posted April 19, 2012 Good fishing, F&F! I need to get over a mental block I have about staying out on the lake until dark. I just can't bring myself to do it, and I think it's a key time fish feed. I'm a very early to bed, early to rise guy. I've been up over an hour already today. So getting on the water early in the morning is more my thing. Had a good day yesterday. Fished from about 6am to Noon. 15 bass, biggest was a 19" spot on a plastic worm. Biting on a little bit of everything. I had 10 rods on the deck all with different baits on them. Fished everyone of them at one point or another, and I think I caught fish on 8 of them. Beaver is a jewel to fish when talking about scenic and the "away from the crowds" feeling, especially during the week. I fished in the Hwy 12 bridge area for a little while yesterday, and did not enjoy it as much with cars and trucks roaring by and all the buildup in that area. But you don't have to run far to get away from all of that. John B 08 Skeeter SL210, 225F Yamaha
Feathers and Fins Posted April 19, 2012 Author Posted April 19, 2012 Jeb, I fish when I can durring the week it just happens to be in the evenings due to work. Weekends I sleep in when possible and go out to the lake usually between 9 and 10 sometimes in the heat of summer I will get out before dawn. When you are up at 4am for work each day you learn weekends its nice to sleep lol. Thats the nice thing about Beaver and its multiple species. If you look and work for them you can get them to bite all day. I dont like fishing around 12 bridge for the same reason you stated, Why would I want the noise and crowds when there are so many nice quiet spots. https://www.facebook.com/pages/Beaver-Lake-Arkansas-Fishing-Report/745541178798856
jeb Posted April 19, 2012 Posted April 19, 2012 I was lucky enough to be able to retire 2 years ago at the age of 52. So I try to avoid fishing on the weekends altogether! But I hear you. John B 08 Skeeter SL210, 225F Yamaha
Feathers and Fins Posted April 19, 2012 Author Posted April 19, 2012 Im going out this weekend. Its the time of year Sucker Punching works great for monster fish. But I aint going out early lol. I know where the stripers are and no need to get up early as its not hot yet. https://www.facebook.com/pages/Beaver-Lake-Arkansas-Fishing-Report/745541178798856
