Greasy B Posted May 2, 2012 Posted May 2, 2012 While I haven't been fortunate enough to fish them I know there are some sweet Smallmouth streams in northern Illinois. The loess substrate and prairie soils of central Illinois don't appear to support many Smallmouth. I didn't figure the streams in the Shawnee hills had enough water. I don't often fish walk and wade streams but I sure spend a lot of time thinking about them. His father touches the Claw in spite of Kevin's warnings and breaks two legs just as a thunderstorm tears the house apart. Kevin runs away with the Claw. He becomes captain of the Greasy Bastard, a small ship carrying rubber goods between England and Burma. Michael Palin, Terry Jones, 1974
Al Agnew Posted May 3, 2012 Posted May 3, 2012 Great pictures! The fish in the second and third pictures appear to me to be hybrids, by the way. The fist picture and fourth picture look to be pure or nearly pure smallmouth.
Tim Smith Posted May 13, 2012 Posted May 13, 2012 Man those reaches look familiar. I have a pretty strong suspicion what county this is. ...actually makes me miss Illinois.
