Glad to hear, Greasy. Ditto - a privilege I have and always will treasure. Kills me when I float by a fire ring (what's the point anyway?!) from someone's previous canoe-camping trip. My 5-yr old knows better. Keep building memories, Greasy.

Here's a few from last weekend, all were returned to the water quickly after being caught. Hard to avoid pulling the big one's off of their beds, mostly tried to fish shoreline and structure, also I fished exclusively with my flyrod after the first half day. The rain event monday screwed up our plans to float so we poked around the three forks, and fished below lesterville some. What a beautiful river, and such nice people in the area. Thanks to you kind folks for all your great advice. Removed 1 large trashbag full of other peoples trash over three days, which considering how much ground I covered wasn't too bad.

I hear ya on the left over fire rings on gravel bars, so very pointless. For me it actually makes it tougher to get a sustainable fire going using long logs, which are mostly what is found out there. Usually start seeing them more and more as the tourist season fires up, no pun.

Worm,

I can echo what my friend the Kayak Kid said as a person of interest to the Black River, people like you who fish the Black I am exstatic to see and please come back and if you ever want to try the float again.......well, I know all the forks very well and have trailers and am just trying to give my wife an excuse to go there.Let me know I've got the vehicles, vessles and trailers just need to know when.

The black is an extremely beautiful river if you know where and when to hit it. I hope to be living in that region on a piece of water as my final home in the next decade.I appologize to the current residents of Reynolds and Iron counties in advance for my arrival.
