powerdive Posted May 11, 2012 Posted May 11, 2012 That's right, eyeman. Bass fishermen should eat bass, and leave the walleyes to the walleye fishermen (us). By the way, bass are great under tomato plants. As WM mentioned, they are a nuisance; can't keep 'em off your hook. Why people spend thousands to pursue a fish that's so over-populous and easy to catch, I can't fathom. I'm being facetious, of course.

dennis boatman Posted May 12, 2012 Posted May 12, 2012 Yep...that moss is a mess. I thought I could get out of it in deeper water, but it seems to be there too. That said, if you aren't getting moss, you aren't in the fish zone.. A strike indicator is just a bobber...

9LB Posted May 14, 2012 Posted May 14, 2012 Walleye fishin was a little slow this weekend but quality replaced quantity. Only caught about 8 all weekend but we had 4 over 20 inches. Hard a hard time getting bites on nightcrawler so started trolling them and found em in about 28 foot of water. Seemed like I was having better luck down the shore about 100-200 yards vs right off the points?
eyeman Posted May 15, 2012 Posted May 15, 2012 the big problem i see with the bass are that bass fishermen really do not like them either cause they just throw em back in . but i have to tell you they are not too bad if you roll em in a thin coat of mustard then corn meal. like i do my saltwater fish.
dennis boatman Posted May 15, 2012 Posted May 15, 2012 My wife caught 3 on Mothers Day in 6 to 8 feet of water...I caught on a little late and got skunked.... A strike indicator is just a bobber...
Members walleye hunter Posted May 19, 2012 Members Posted May 19, 2012 I found this week a little tougher than last week. We finally found them on the flats, last week they were shallow on the points. While there was water chop on the flats, we'd catch fish. When it calmed down, they were gone. The sun was really beating down.
minnowhooker Posted May 19, 2012 Posted May 19, 2012 It's been slower for sure I went yesterday and found them about 23' deep around points quite a few shorts still using nightcrawlers nothing over 16''
