Members samv Posted May 11, 2012 Members Posted May 11, 2012 Hello fellow anglers, I was once a master at downrigger fishing but now have a Bass Boat and I have got to spend some time on these beautiful MO and AR lakes. I hadn't wet a line in years until last week end on Table Rock where I caught one nice Bass and released it because one don't make dinner. I'm hooked again. A bad day fishing is better than a good day at work, just costs more.

Members Hogs on the Fly Posted May 13, 2012 Members Posted May 13, 2012 I like walleye. When are you taking me out in that lake boat of yours Ham?
Ham Posted May 13, 2012 Posted May 13, 2012 Hard to make our work schedules click, but maybe soon. I'll call. Every Saint has a past, every Sinner has a future. On Instagram @hamneedstofish
Members samv Posted May 13, 2012 Author Members Posted May 13, 2012 I hope to find out about those Bull Shoals Walleye next week end Ham. I have to learn all over again so any suggestions are gladely accepted. Most of my fishing has been trolling long line or downriggers. Not a lot of finesse fishing. A bad day fishing is better than a good day at work, just costs more.
Ham Posted May 14, 2012 Posted May 14, 2012 Mike Worley gives great fishing reports and guides on BSL. Read his stuff. I catch my walleye while bass fishing. Happy to have em. I know very little about bottom bouncers or trolling for walleye. Every Saint has a past, every Sinner has a future. On Instagram @hamneedstofish
West Fork Jason Posted May 14, 2012 Posted May 14, 2012 " I know very little about bottom bouncers or trolling for walleye. " Here's one from our general warm water opener a little over a week ago, swinging an articulated streamer with a steelhead rod. I hate you guys down there and your "fishing seasons". Sam- good luck with the Waldo's! They are yummy... Alot of folks fish Lake Superior for them with downriggers, planers, dipsy divers, etc. and do well with the larger ones. Should be a good method when your lakes warm up down there??? http://www.WestForkJason.com
Members samv Posted May 15, 2012 Author Members Posted May 15, 2012 Well Ham, I will read his reports. I consider myself a complete novice at Bass or Walleye fishing. Thanks for the tip. West Fork Jason, if I could figure out a safe way for an old man like me to mount and fish downriggers off a bass boat I would give that a try here. A bad day fishing is better than a good day at work, just costs more.
