Did you see who stocked it? Just curious. MDC usually stocks onTuesdays or Wednesdays. They also usually stock both Capps and Hickory the same week. I was at Capps Sunday and saw all of 3 trout up in the park under the old bridge. When Neosho stocks they don't put nearly as many fish in and to my knowledge they don't stock Capps. That would explain the lack of fish at Capps.

If fishing was easy it would be called catching.

I saw quite a few trout at the north end handicap fishing area. I think Neosho is stocking hickory creek or they did last month.

The only time the hatchery at Neosho stocks either one of those creeks is after the fishing derbys. The state is responsible for stocking both of those creeks from the hatchery out of RR. The trout from Neosho goes to Taneycomo. Doesn't make a whole lot of sense, but that's the way it works due to management from the state. Not to say Neosho couldn't have stock down there, but it is highly unlikely from what Dave at the hatchery has told me. That being said, those fish do dissapear really quickly and it is probably due to over harvest from many. If anyone sees someone over taking their share don't hesitate to call MDC or the office in Neosho. That number is 451-4158 and let them know!!!

Put that phone no in my cell and will. I was at Capps creek this moring and caught several fishing from the dam. I had one good one on and knot broke at hook, didn't get to see how big its was but it was heavier than anything I have caught before there.
