powerdive Posted May 31, 2012 Posted May 31, 2012 Jeff, check the archives here for both Bull Shoals and the Table Rock forum. There's been some good discussion on that...just gotta dig it up.
Wayne SW/MO Posted May 31, 2012 Posted May 31, 2012 FYI, I'm not a walleye fishermen, but I spend a lot of time around Powersite. I never see anyone trolling in the area from RR upstream. I would theink the cool water and flow would be a magnet? Today's release is tomorrows gift to another fisherman.
powerdive Posted May 31, 2012 Posted May 31, 2012 I'm a lifelong lake fisherman. I need to get over my aversion to shallow water. The thinking part of my brain agrees with you, Wayne, and says that there are probably more active walleyes in shallow water virtually any time of year, but my stubborn streak (which controls a much larger portion of gray matter) tells me to stay in my comfort zone. Duh.
Jeff Olson Posted May 31, 2012 Author Posted May 31, 2012 thanks Wayne & powerdive! and wayne, sorry but what area is RR ? thanks
Wayne SW/MO Posted May 31, 2012 Posted May 31, 2012 Sorry, River Run is the COE park/ramp at hiway 76 and the lake, south side. To the left is the run to Powersite dam. Today's release is tomorrows gift to another fisherman.
Feathers and Fins Posted May 31, 2012 Posted May 31, 2012 There are tons of Walleye in the shallows if you hit the right day and times. Early morning, Late evening on a real windy day with chop on stained water. Remember I was posting about getting them in 4' to 8' ft of water earlier this years in the middle of the day. But there was either Cloud cover or Wind Chopped water stained up. I think to many people over look shallow water eyes and the ones in shallow were the bigger size fish. https://www.facebook.com/pages/Beaver-Lake-Arkansas-Fishing-Report/745541178798856

Jeff Olson Posted June 3, 2012 Author Posted June 3, 2012 thanks Bry for the info! I have them lures, never have used them much seeing I usually only fished water 20 ft and less, but alot deeper water down here than in WI. I will have to start useing them.had a pretty slow day on bull shoals saturday with only 3 short eyes, but I did not try deep! ( anyone out on bull shoals saturday that did good? or was it just a slow day)
powerdive Posted June 3, 2012 Posted June 3, 2012 Horrible day for me. Not a single eye. Fished from 8' to 46'. Amazing show on sonar, but nothing wanted to eat my cranks or my jigs. At least I got to meet Jeff.
