fishbait3 Posted May 31, 2012 Posted May 31, 2012 Met with Wtr Dog and trolled some bluffs with bouncers and caught a mess of Bluegill and 1 White Bass not exactly what was planned but filled the skillet. We Also trolled points with some crankbaits and I have officially caught my first Keeper walleye. the Second eye that wtr dog caught was a shorty so hes back inthe lake to grow some more. Friday we Trolled crankbaits to no success and threw some bouncers with the same issue all in the same areas that we had fished the day before, around 11 the lake blew us off the water. All the Bluegill that were caught were around 8in or so not going to complain about those pesky fish Maybe Next time i can have a better report. I meant wednesday and THursday
straw hat Posted May 31, 2012 Posted May 31, 2012 It is a beginning. Soon you will be racking them in.
9LB Posted June 1, 2012 Posted June 1, 2012 When that wind picks up go off them points a little deeper and put on a crawler harness. I like the Lindy Brands. Kill the trolling motor and just drift that heavy wind and that spiiner on the harness will do the rest of the work. Red and pink colors seem to be doing better then chartreuse. Be sure you troll a blugill color crank through those same spots and you will possibly catch some big eyes feeding on them. My 3 biggest walleyes of the year I caught after catching a few shorties on worms and then moving to that color in a crankbait. My wife pulled in 3 short bass I cast the baby bass color looking for the eyes. Seems like Walleyes are the ultimate predator. They are eating what you are catching in those spots. The biggest walleye I had ever seen in Stockton was trailing a small crappie my daughter was reeling in. Up north we used to use bluegills to catch walleyes and Pike.
wtr dogs Posted June 1, 2012 Posted June 1, 2012 Hey, I enjoyed fishing with Fishbait3. Second time in a row my partner has caught more keepers than me. 9LB, The whitecaps were trying to put us in the rocks. Had a hard time getting the boat on the drive on trailer Home of the the dam of 2009 AKC National Debry Champion.--AMMOAMMO
