Buzzers rock...I carry 3 kinds...standard, triple blade, and double buzzers...you can tune em up a bit if its too quiet...pull the blade, file a notch in the rivet, enlarge the back hole on the blade...reinstall blade, rebend the wire and crimp the rivet...paint rivet red. Good Luck.

I used to throw a buzzer a lot, but I don't as much anymore. I do "wake" my spinnerbaits every time I try them and if they hit that I'll try the buzzer - sometimes it works better, sometimes not. There are those days that Buzzbaits just rule, and in that case I use the ones you can build from Lurepartsonline.com - although I did have a batch of blades that were really quiet from them like Al said. The last batch was really loud, so go figure.

For kids or just creek fishing I really like the Terminator Tiny-T buzzbaits - small but work great. The Tiny-T spinnerbaits need extra weight to keep them from rolling but the Buzzbaits run great right out of the package.

My alltime favorite buzzbait anywhere anytime is a 3/8oz with counter rotating blades.

The lunker lure brand made back in the 80's was the best.

I've had a real hard time finding another buzzbait that gets on plane quickly and spins at low speed. Thats the real key.

The buzzspoon is super duper.

Herb's Dilly is one of the best ever made IMO...

I caught an 8lb LM from the kings on a 5/8oz white and silver Dilly. Luckiest trophy bass I ever landed.

Frog is also a good color pattern that most people overlook. Especially if that creek has water willows.

If you've ever caught bass out of water willow then you probably know what I mean.

Shallow knee deep runs just down from a riffle or above a riffle with water willow is worth the extra effort and time to locate.

These type of spots will produce all species of bass throughout the summer and early fall periods.

I still have a hard time finding that perfect buzzbait that runs at slow speed.

Maybe I should make my own.

Joe, actually fish CAN hear. Probably better than we can underwater, and we can hear okay. They have internal "ears" as well as their lateral line, which is what they use to "feel" underwater vibrations.

Now does the squeak REALLY make a difference? I believe it does, but I've also seen guys catch a ton of fish on non-squeaking buzzbaits.

I've done all the things to make them squeak that everybody has suggested, except right now I don't have a car with an external antenna. They help, but nothing works as well as just using them to death unless it's the antenna trick.

By the way Al I want to thank you for the tip on fixing a Sammy 85. I had 3 that I absolutely wouldn't use, too much trouble to walk. They now work just fine.
