First question...I have a divided livewell, but will have three guys in the boat. If we are each keeping fish and use clearly marked stringers to indicate who's is who's will this keep us on the up and up with the conservation agents? This was about the best I could come up with and would seem to be in line with what I could find in the regs. I'll break down and call before our trip, but wanted to throw this out while fresh on the mind.

Second...How are the trout magnets fished? Indicator and drift? Any trick to setting the depth?

What I do for the legal limit issue be it hunting or fishing if I have multiple people with me is simple. I use Diffrent color Zip Ties to mark who's fish belongs to who. Its simple and effective. Larger ties you can easily write your name on them and there is no question the when a C/O stops you.

I like the zip tie idea. I can give each person 4 ties and when they are out they are done fishing. Call me detail oriented, but I am going to have each guy put one on a belt loop so it is crystal clear to the CO who has which fish.

Mo, go to the Lowes and get the BIG ones. Use a sharpi to write name and Conservation number on it. If you want to reuse them instead of putting them on the way they have to be cut off just reverse them and burn a needle hole in it and use a snap through the hole and you have a reuseable one. I had a CO check us on a trip we had limits of stripers, crappie and Walleye. He said it was the easiest he ever had at checking fish in a live well.

Trout Magnets-

They're fished like a jig and float, under a strike indicator about 5-6 feet deep. 2-pound tippet or line, fluorocarbon is best.

Go to Dicks in Old Town Banson and buy diaper pins that have colored heads (blue, pink,&yellow) they don't come out and it is a very small hole in the fishes lip in case you want to cull to a bigger fish. They are also cheap.

I think I actually have a few of those in the tacklebox. Have to dig them out again and give them a try. I don't remember how I fished them, but it wasn't like that. You're fishing them nymphing style...dead drift, huh?

Any preference on colors?
