Back In Time For The Cold Front Day

I went out early this morning for the first time in over two weeks. The wife and I drove 4720 miles and were in 22 states and the District of Columbia. We visited both children and her mother (our remaining parent)

I had 1 bite on top this morning. That's right. One. It was a 2 or 3 pound smallmouth and it decided to not visit the boat. Nice jump, though.

I worked hard to catch one crappie and one keeper walleye. The other walleye I caught was just under legal length. The keeper measured 24 inches and weighed around 4.5. Both walleye hit a silver wiggle wart traveling 19 feet deep (125 feet of 10/2 braid) as I zig zagged a flat drop off into the channel.

I marked large fish sitting at the bottom of those drop offs (26 to 35 feet) but could not entice them with trolled cranks or nightcrawler harnesses.

Welcome back, rps. You'll get back in the swing of things quickly. If your struggles continue, I might start to wonder about a few of my "friends" here and their activities while you were gone. They may have put a beatdown on your fish. I'd never use their real names, of course, but their nicknames just miiiiiight be something like Denjac or the one we affectionately know as the moderator. Ain't accusin' no one of nothin' now, just sayin .... stuff happens.

Seriously, though, neither one of them has been up that far to my knowledge. Denny's boat has been in the shop. Donna and I have threatened to go launch at Holiday Island a couple of times but have yet to make it.

WERNT ME I TRIED THOUGH !!!!!!!!!!!! I tried the spots you gave me but they were infested by a major tuber hatch, so i went back up the river where i felt safe.... I still was shocked to catch the hybrids and to see the pure volume of shad. Come on over to beaver this weekend and I will take you out and show you some of my spots.
