Quillback Posted June 17, 2012 Posted June 17, 2012 We were out at the crack of dawn in Jeb's Skeeter yesterday. We mainly fished up the White arm, with a stopover in a cove on the War Eagle arm. We ended up with 15-20 LM's and a few spots, Jeb caught most of the fish including big fish of the day, a 3.25 Lb. LM. Best bite was early, it got tough after 0900. Caught them on a variety of baits, c-rigged plastics, jigs, and flukes. First time I've been on Beaver on a Saturday in a while, lots of other fishermen out there. 3 times we had people jump in front of us as we were going down the bank. I guess that's the norm on the weekends.
Stump bumper Posted June 17, 2012 Posted June 17, 2012 You should try a Sunday tournament...I have had spots during the week were I had no problem getting 5 keepers on on one point and 5 points like that lined up only to find 5 boats on each of them during the tournament and tubes circling the best spots. Pre fishing I would line up a 25lb bag then struggle to find two 15in fish on Sunday. Sounds like you having a good time in the river......
Quillback Posted June 17, 2012 Author Posted June 17, 2012 Yep we're having some fun, we wouldn't win any tournaments, but we're getting some fish. We were off the water by 1100 yesterday, I think the worst part of a tourney right now is having to stay on the water when it's 90 degrees and having to work hard to grind out some fish.
jeb Posted June 17, 2012 Posted June 17, 2012 Like Jeff said, we had some rude fishermen yesterday. One guy pulled in an easy half cast away! We've kind of just started really fishing the rivers more, and maybe that's more the norm up there. I've never seen it that often on the main lake. But fishing weekends is just not much fun this time of year. Too much traffic! John B 08 Skeeter SL210, 225F Yamaha

Feathers and Fins Posted June 18, 2012 Posted June 18, 2012 Jeb, I will NOT fish the river this time of year just because of the way other people are up there, I dont know what it is about this time of year and people up river and the lack of respect. Furthest I go is Monte Ne and that sometimes is pushing it I have to have very good reports to even go there. I watched a lot of things today near 12 bridge that were flat out dangerous and illegal and wouldnt be suprisd to hear on the news someone died or was hurt today. Boats pulling tubes and skiers within 100 ft of docks and between boats and zig-zagging on the main lake making people have to make emergency turns to avoid a collison and the wourse I saw was a jet skier pulling 3 on a tube at speed under 12 bridge cutting in front of 2 cruiser, I thought a death was about to happen... Was on the lake in that area from noon untill 7:30 and never saw a patrol boat of any kind. I think the boats staying off Beaver on weekends till September. https://www.facebook.com/pages/Beaver-Lake-Arkansas-Fishing-Report/745541178798856
Quillback Posted June 18, 2012 Author Posted June 18, 2012 Midnight to 6am....... I can't stay up all night and fish, the drive home is brutal trying to stay awake.
