Billfo Posted June 18, 2012 Posted June 18, 2012 The last time I was at the lake I noticed that my 2000 Mercury throttle/shift control housing was loose on the bulkhead. Should I take metric or sae tools with me to the lake ? I have not really looked to see HOW it attaches to the bulkhead. Screws ? Any tips would be most helful.. Thanks. fishinwrench Posted June 18, 2012 Posted June 18, 2012 Mercs are metric (since they have been farmed from Yamaha and Tohatsu for quite a few years now) but it's possible that whoever rigged your boat used 1/4x20 (sae 7/16) to mount the control box.

Billfo Posted August 29, 2012 Author Posted August 29, 2012 How rude of me.I forgot to post my update.. I finally took a better look & discovered that all I needed to do was tighten the bulkhead screws ( that were covered by plastic caps).. Email me Red-Right-Returning is for quitters !
