Members hambandit Posted July 2, 2012 Members Posted July 2, 2012 A couple weeks ago my truck, along with some other vehicles, was broken into at work and a bunch of stuff including my fly rod was stolen. it was a brand new setup I hadn't even had out of the tube. Nothing real fancy but still a couple hundred bucks down the drain. Well the cops caught the guy and no trace of my rod. So I'm in the market for a setup. Can't afford a sage or anything like that but if you've got something for sale let me know. Thanks.
laker67 Posted July 3, 2012 Posted July 3, 2012 Sorry to hear that hb. I hope that son of a gun uses your rod, and falls in the creek and drowns.
Brian K. Shaffer Posted July 4, 2012 Posted July 4, 2012 You could look into some of the Bass Pro rods and reels... I own 3 of their rods.. my favorite is a 7'6" 4-5wt Hobbs Creek I bought at the Outlet store in Springfield for $20. The other two were also bought at the outlet... a 6'6" 3wt and a 5'4" 4 weight. Both rods were $30 for no reason. (no tube or sock tho) Just once I wish a trout would wink at me! ozarkflyfisher@gmail.com I'm the guy wearing the same Simms longbilled hat for 10 years now.
Members hambandit Posted July 18, 2012 Author Members Posted July 18, 2012 Thanks for the advice. I've been haunting the outlet but haven't run across something that fits the bill yet. Hopefully soon.
dpenrod Posted July 24, 2012 Posted July 24, 2012 sent you a p.m. a couple of weeks ago. i have a nice used redington crosswater, 9' 5wt. 4 piece that i'd pair with a tfo prism 5/6 large arbor spooled with a used but still in good shape s.a. mastery gpx 5wf line. sell you the combo for $100 in a face to face deal. if you're looking for a full flex rod, i have an older orvis silver label 8'6" 2 piece 5 wt. with the same reel, i'd sell that combo for $150. if either of these interest you, let me know.
