Wayne SW/MO Posted July 3, 2012 Posted July 3, 2012 I agree with F & F, while I wouldn't want to get bit by one medical experts say a healthy human won't die from their venom. Today's release is tomorrows gift to another fisherman.

Idylwilde Posted July 3, 2012 Posted July 3, 2012 I remember when Senator Danny Staples tried to get a law passed in MO for it to be legal to kill Copperheads on sight. Didn't pass. He had almost had been bitten while working on his tractor. I guess I am a law breaker. LOL Take a Child Fishing they are the future of the sport.

Plus they are really pretty snakes, I like the coloration. I can see if one was living under my house or in a wood pile near where my kids play etc. But otherwise just to kill on sight? Nope, just don't get that one.
Addicted to Creeks Posted July 4, 2012 Posted July 4, 2012 http://www.stltoday.com/news/local/metro/man-bitten-by-copperhead-in-southeast-missouri-dies/article_ad3fafde-c504-11e1-933b-001a4bcf6878.html this article says 3rd person in MO to die from it, 3 people since the 30s, we should probably kill bees and dogs on sight since they are far more "deadly" Fish always lose by being "got in and dressed." It is best to weigh them while they are in the water. The only really large one I ever caught got away with my leader when I first struck him. He weighed ten pounds. —Charles Dudley Warner
eric1978 Posted July 4, 2012 Posted July 4, 2012 Yeah, people die from bee stings all the time. And peanuts. Just because certain people have deadly reactions to things doesn't mean the things are necessarily deadly. Shooting snakes. Brilliant.
