Dave Cook Posted October 15, 2006 Posted October 15, 2006 I was night fishing Wednesday after midnight at the Big Hole and heard something crashing thru the brush from the Old Boat Ramp up to the Big Hole on the south shore. Next day I heard something crashing thru brush opposite the Rocking Chair on the north shore. My wife caught a glimpse and all she could say it was bigger than a badger. So I was wondering if any of the regular night fishermen had heard (or seen) a similar experience. Dave Cook Missouri Trout Fishermen's Association - Kansas City
Terry Beeson Posted October 15, 2006 Posted October 15, 2006 While putting on my waders a couple of weeks ago, a fox (four legged kind...) made her way through the parking lot. I heard something Friday night that probably was a Bobcat. I'm sure there are several options as to what it was you heard/saw... Rusty Posted October 15, 2006 Posted October 15, 2006 There are only two animals that I know of that make a lot of noise in the woods...A dog and a armadillo. An aramadillo can sound like a D9 Caterpillar coming through the woods at night.
Wayne SW/MO Posted October 15, 2006 Posted October 15, 2006 An aramadillo can sound like a D9 Caterpillar coming the woods at night. and they're getting be a common sight. Today's release is tomorrows gift to another fisherman.
Kansas Fly Fisher Posted October 15, 2006 Posted October 15, 2006 I second the aramdillo! I was at Roaring River a month or so back and heard what sound like a couple of deer fighting. I knew it wasn't the rut so I got interested. Turned out to be an Armadillo messing around. John Born to Fish, Forced to Work KSMEDIC.COM
Leonard Posted October 15, 2006 Posted October 15, 2006 Dare I say.... BEAVERS!!! If not racoons... if they made a fighting sound.. its the Racoons... If you listen really close at night when you hear the restling in the bushes... and hear a plop or a small splash in the water.. it the beavers... there is about 6 up by the dam... and those SOB's scare the heck out of me... I really hate those beavers!!!!! They are not aggresive (so Im told)... but they do give you spook up your looking in the water and see a 40lb beaver less then 10 feet from!!! http://www.taneycomonights.com
Terry Beeson Posted October 16, 2006 Posted October 16, 2006 Where'd you get that picture of me, Phil?
