Root Admin Phil Lilley Posted July 30, 2012 Root Admin Posted July 30, 2012 Caught this morning, July 30 on Lake Taneycomo, 8:30 am. Phil Lilley, Lilleys' Landing Resort & Marina 29-inch rainbow Caught on a 3/32-ounce brown/orange/brown head marabou jig, spinning tackle. Hooked about 500 yards above the mouth of Fall Creek. Released just below Fall Creek Marina's dock, mid lake. Fishing this morning with Tom Burckhardt and Gerry Dwiggins, a couple of the best jig fishermen I know. Both are from St Louis, came down for a couple of days of fishing. Yesterday they caught over 100 trout each using straight and jig and float techniques. We caught quite a few this morning... but this one was pretty incredible. This is my largest Taneycomo rainbow to date.
DaddyO Posted July 30, 2012 Posted July 30, 2012 Wow!! What a pig of a Rainbow. Nicely Done. DaddyO We all make decisions; but, in the end, our decisions make us.
Brian K. Shaffer Posted July 30, 2012 Posted July 30, 2012 Nice one Phil!!! What do you think she weighed out at ? Just once I wish a trout would wink at me! ozarkflyfisher@gmail.com I'm the guy wearing the same Simms longbilled hat for 10 years now.
Root Admin Phil Lilley Posted July 30, 2012 Author Root Admin Posted July 30, 2012 Whole story: http://www.ozarkanglers.com/lake-taneycomo/2012/07/30/another-large-rainbow-caught-on-lake-taneycomo/ Weight - I honestly don't know. You be the judge. Tom said on camera at least 12 pounds. I would agree with that.
Root Admin Phil Lilley Posted July 30, 2012 Author Root Admin Posted July 30, 2012 GoPro video to follow...
laker67 Posted July 30, 2012 Posted July 30, 2012 Whole story: http://www.ozarkangl...lake-taneycomo/ Weight - I honestly don't know. You be the judge. Tom said on camera at least 12 pounds. I would agree with that. A huge girth my guess would be a pound bigger at 13.
Idylwilde Posted July 30, 2012 Posted July 30, 2012 Great catch Phil! Greater yet was the release of a best catch on that water. Take a Child Fishing they are the future of the sport.
mwfischer Posted July 30, 2012 Posted July 30, 2012 That's awesome Phil! I caught a 23" probably 4/5# in that exact spot and same jig two years ago. Great fish!
