Nortrad Posted August 6, 2012 Posted August 6, 2012 (From Sunday, 05 August) Not a bad day until the Jedi and I flipped his canoe at the island above Blair Bridge. Lost my 9' TFO 5WT w. Orvis Battenkill 5/6 reel, brown foam hopper/Rainbow warrior dropper on it. We looked and looked, no luck. Jedi lost a paddle and we had to get our composure back after this. Left this description with Amy at Sunburst. Kyle or Brian or whoever, it's on the left in the fast riffle, shouldn't have taken that course. Jedi did well and he landed quite a few small rainbows with par marks, good things for next year. My highlight was landing a beautiful 'bow on the same foam hopper on the lost rod/reel. Probably a long shot, but maybe it will turn up. I appreciate the effort if you happen to be drifting thru there.
Jack Jones Posted August 6, 2012 Posted August 6, 2012 Is that the fast riffle decscribed as "the falls" by Sunburst? "Thanks to Mother Mercy, Thanks to Brother Wine, Another night is over and we're walking down the line" - David Mallett
Justin Spencer Posted August 6, 2012 Posted August 6, 2012 We will keep and eye out, hopefully one of our floaters will find it. Nortrad Posted August 6, 2012 Author Posted August 6, 2012 Is that the fast riffle decscribed as "the falls" by Sunburst? It's upstream from Blair. You can see the isand from the bridge. Only thing I can think of was the current pulled the outfit under the over bank or something. Jedi's paddle took off like a shot. We couldn't spot it and asked a few people about it. The only 'Falls' I know of are at ROLF. We usually walk around it. Guess we're rookies still, canoe-wise...
Gavin Posted August 6, 2012 Posted August 6, 2012 Bummer, hope someone finds your rig. Its usually easiest to look for the fly line on the bottom when you sink a fly rod.
