I think i have this right but i just want to make sure before i head down today. 25 is 1 turbin, 45 is 2 and so on, and "rebar" is the area just bellow the hatchery? Heading down this afternoon and i want to catch some for the smoker.

55 mw is one unit. 25 is less than one.

Check out the maps here on OA. I have Rebar marked.

Yesterday, a couple of the guys fishing the tournament caught a 24 inch brown above Fall Creek. They said they caught a lot of rainbows in the 18-19 inch range, all on jigs. They had trouble catching rainbows under 12 inches... they weighed in the brown and 3 rainbows. They could have and should have weighed in 8 trout total.

I guess I'm saying this because they had trouble catching rainbows under 12 inches. Hope you can do better :) Would be a beautiful day to be out there.

Should be, in MegaWatts, 50-100-150-200 as in 1, 2, 3, 4, units running. A strong 4 units can bring 225-255MW's. Overloaded.

This is the first time ever I have seen them running ' half a unit ' like at 25MW's.

I always understood that running a unit at 1/2 load could (read - would) cause cavitation on the unit being ran. ?1?!? Still do not understand that. ( a link to cavitation -

So the 25MW fishes very strange.. perhaps it is due to the low oxygen... but it is new on the fish for this year (as far as I know.)

I like it ... but it is very different and the fish are not cooperating in the upper end - meaning above chute 3.

Below chute 3 is better for actively feeding fish at low water, in my honest opinion.

Just once I wish a trout would wink at me!

Howdy Brian, you are quite right about the fish not liking that half unit. And to add further to than, they have" never" liked one unit or less. It is not enough water to bring them to the banks, so they hold farther out in the current. This makes it a lot more difficult for the wading angler above # 3. I am thinking that this half unit stuff would be pretty close to what they would call "minimum flow".

Sounds like you did ok, even though you couldn't catch a" takehome " fish.

In the boat, they like one unit a lot where I fish....

I know it's tough on people wading.
