Ranger Z22 Posted August 23, 2012 Posted August 23, 2012 Bill thanks for all your advise/locations/patterns, and everything else you do to help us. Don H here, last time we fished together, I was counting down the days to my retirement, it is here, and I am having a great time. Today will be 13 days in a row I have fished, and I am using your information to help me have good trips each day. There are days I don't fish very long--you know the work list will be out of hand if I don't get some of the tasks done. I have also had some luck fishing the jig in Aunts Creek (sorry Techo). z22
Members OzarkKid07 Posted August 23, 2012 Members Posted August 23, 2012 Fall is not nor has ever been the 1st. couple of weeks of October this far South. Fall here is pretty much just getting under way the last week or so of October and to up right before deer season on the 10th. of November. We had beautiful leafs still on the trees and our pretty week last year was the week of November 7th. If you could shove that trip back a couple of weeks, you would see a night and day difference. None the less, I am sure we will keep you posted here. Football jig bite usually starts just after Halloween, that usually starts to signal when things are just about to get started. Thanksgiving week is usually great here, with any of the close up stuff. We usually have a lot of corporate trips the first two weeks of October, and we are always working hard to keep a fish on the string. Maybe different this year with the low water, only time will tell. Hope it is against the norm and you come down and catch a big bag everyday. Good Luck and stay Tuned. I think this comment made about 500 readers start sweating their mid-October trip to the Rock, including me and my wife/dad/mom and even our 22-week-old little girl who is already a veteran on the water. I'm glad you gave us some good standards to set our expectations by, so when we are throwin' the sink at 'em, we don't start to question our ability, just know that it's normal for the 2nd or 3rd week of October. I know we have been having dreams already of idling out of OMR and never getting on plane before we have to stop and fling something shiny. At least now, if we know it may be in transition we can get our heads right. Thanks for the heads-up Bill. We live vicariously through you until that one magical week where we get to go practice what you been preachin'... and we are so grateful for you! And for the rest of you that post your stories and pictures and reports! Thank you all! Michael J. Mooney IV Center Director Brain Balance of Edwardsville "Ohhh, you thought we were on vacation!? Sorry honey, this is a FISHING TRIP! Welcome to the family."
