Members Rivr_runnr Posted August 21, 2012 Author Members Posted August 21, 2012 ...OK, now that we are focused on the Niangua...I am still to catch a trout below NRO...Whats up with that? We always see a dozen bows in the Blue Springs tailwater as we are fishing that stretch. My son tried to use a cricket to catch them this weekend but was unseccessful. I have caught them up to 18" there in the spring, but the ones haning out now are in the 12" range.
MOsmallies Posted August 22, 2012 Posted August 22, 2012 That Meanmouth is an unbelievable fish and the fish of a lifetime (or maybe only two week timeline)!!!!!!!!!! Congrats on releasing it and to the guy that caught it before you. That is one of the most impressive river fish I have ever seen. Welcome to the forum.... Looks like we've got another member with a wealth of information. Looking forward to more posts and pictures. Paul MOsmallies
Members Rivr_runnr Posted August 22, 2012 Author Members Posted August 22, 2012 I appreciate the comments, but I can't claim sainthood for releasing this fish...its at my taxidermist. I have caught and released thousands of smallmouth bass, but it took me one nanosecond looking at this pig in the net to realize I had finally caught my wall hanger.
podum Posted August 23, 2012 Posted August 23, 2012 That is good by me. I'd have hung it too! I wish I had more time more than I wish I had more money.
