BlueWave Posted September 15, 2012 Posted September 15, 2012 Has anyone had any success fishing this cove? I have fished it quite a few times w/o much success. I did get into a school of small white bass on top last spring and did catch a monster gar, but not much for all the times I have tried it.
Stump bumper Posted September 15, 2012 Posted September 15, 2012 I've pulled some big ones out of the trees and my wife got a 8lb walleye on a drop shot there. It is a great cove during the spawn but most of the time I find the fish tight to the deep trees. It is hard to get down to the bigger limbs without handing in the smaller limbs at the top, but well worth it when you do. I thought that was part of the 15 story condos that was being built there a couple of years back and fell through. There were a lot of law suites over people selling their property cheap because they were building those condos then when they fell though they were mad about selling and so forth. That went up at the same time, and never got finished so I always assumed that was it. http://www.arkansasb....aspx?aID=99082 http://www.sydnessarchitects.com/portfolio/residential/grandviewheights.htm
jeb Posted September 16, 2012 Posted September 16, 2012 That was Coose Hollow where those condo's were suppose to go up. That's the one between Ventris and the PC Marina. John B 08 Skeeter SL210, 225F Yamaha
Stump bumper Posted September 17, 2012 Posted September 17, 2012 Has anyone found it on Google Earth, I looked for it but could not find it. I was trying to get an address and google it to see if it was a commercial site.
J-Doc Posted September 17, 2012 Posted September 17, 2012 I believe this is what the original poster is referencing. The green tower is between Rambo and Cliffty, not the failed condo development in Coose. That's a different side of the lake and there are no towers over there. The green tower is a structure that is in fact "green" and from a distance, you just don't know what it is. Surely someone here knows the history of this and not Montne, Coose Towers, or any other story on the lake. Need marine repair? Send our own forum friend "fishinwrench" a message. J-Doc Posted September 17, 2012 Posted September 17, 2012 By the way, that attached images shows Rocky Branch Marina on the upper left corner, Rambo towards the bottom middle and Van Winkle on the bottom left corner. The blue circle is where the tower is located. If you zoom in on Google Earth, you can see it and a drive to it. I "believe" I have the right location. It's along this shoreline anyway and this was the only structure I found on that shoreline that resembles the description I recall. Need marine repair? Members spahog Posted September 17, 2012 Members Posted September 17, 2012 J-Doc - The "castle" the original poster is talking about is not where you have your blue circle. Its straight across the lake from there. Its the cove right in the top center of your photo. You can make out the structure if you look closely.
