Rodmaker Posted August 25, 2012 Posted August 25, 2012 I will be coming down to the rock the first part of Oct. Staying in shell Knob area. Is this typically a good walleye area? I have always stayed up the James river arm by the hideaway marina. I have never made it that far to shell Knob in my boat and I am unfamiliar with this area as far as fishing goes. Wife and I are seriously considering retiring down there and want to check out the shell Knob area. Any thoughts?.... Thanks
rps Posted August 25, 2012 Posted August 25, 2012 I have taken nice walleye from Campbell Point, just down river from Shell Knob. Many of my message board friends swear by the Kings River for walleye and its mouth is just upriver from Shell Knob. Up lake from there to Viney Creek also has excellent areas. So my answer is yes, that area will be as good for walleye as any on the lake. In addition, Shell Knob is smack in the middle of the best bass fishing on the lake.
Bill Babler Posted August 26, 2012 Posted August 26, 2012 Hummmm! Shell Knob; Great Restaurants, Excellent Grocery Store, Lowest Price Gas on the Lake, Good Medical Faculities, 30 road minutes to Branson, 30 Road Minutes to Eureka Springs, 20 Minutes to shopping in Barryville, or 50 minutes to Springfield. Lots of great local Churches including Catholic. Some of the best fishing left on Table Rock Lake, that is not totally pounded to death. Some of the more favorable land and home prices on TR Lake. You might like it. Oh I forgot one thing WAKE BOATS AND BIG SKI BOATS ON SMALL WATER. Oh well, you can't have everything. http://whiteriveroutfitters.com http://whiteriverlodgebb.com
Feathers and Fins Posted August 26, 2012 Posted August 26, 2012 Its almost over Bill, the wakes and skis will soon be gone and the lake will return to the fishermen as most people do not like cold water. https://www.facebook.com/pages/Beaver-Lake-Arkansas-Fishing-Report/745541178798856
