I found this recently dead channel cat about 3 feet away from the shore of my pond today. The belly was still wet. There was a deep puncture and a few cuts and scrapes on its back and head. What could have caused this? About 3 months ago I ran across the same thing except it was a crappie and the crappie was still alive. Very strange...

A very greedy heron. I've seen little green herons stab 15" bass, and then wonder what to do with it afterwards. Good shots, though- got them in the head and killed them quick.

Otters and giggers is, like, so last problem. That was either an elk or a mountain lion.

I saw a fairly large Heron searching for fish the day before. There was some claw marks on another catfish I found. I think they may have been made by a raccoon because the marks were fairly small.
