mic Posted October 9, 2012 Posted October 9, 2012 Took the family out for a day of hiking. We completed this trail and the waterfall trail (in another post). This one is 3.5 miles and simply a blast. It has a great overlook of the Mississippi Valley and the Muddy River. The LGC is a sandstone formation completely gutted by flowing water. The trail actually takes you right down the middle of the water chute. My daughter and any kid would love it. The trail is very steep, so avoid if you have problems with hills.
ColdWaterFshr Posted October 9, 2012 Posted October 9, 2012 Cool. I love little finds like that. Ever make it over to Hawn State Park? or to Taum Sauk to hike down and see the falls? or to Hercules Glades? some great hikes in all those places.
mic Posted October 9, 2012 Author Posted October 9, 2012 I bushwacked down Pickle Creek below the campground at Hawn for fishing fun, but I haven't hit any of the trails. I plan on getting out as much as I can.
