I'm real curious to see if they work again, too. But you're sure right, it's almost funny that all of that hate and discontent about that new lure all came to nothing. It's just another lure to use and understand.

I've only lost one A-rig. I use 65lb braid and fairly light wire jigs. I may loose the occasional big fish on a bent hook, but I always get my rig back from tree tops. That's a good trade for me, since I don't fish tourneys. I've found a bunch of striper umbrella rigs on Beaver, but no a-rigs so far.

Think Avoca and trees lol... some of them old trees were looking like christmas trees with all the A-rigs decorating them. The one in front of the fire boat dock had 9 on it alone but only 3 were salvagable. Someone needs to just put some garland and lights on it and it would have been a great tree lol.

I live on the hill between Avoca and PC Coves, so I've fished those two a lot. I've seen the water lower than it is now in there, and it's always fun to see all those trees sticking up like they are now in Avoca. It's far more forested than most people realize since most of them are hidden when the water is at normal pool. I see wakeboarders and skiiers back in there pulling folks around when the water is up a bit. I keep thinking someone is going to get killed clipping a tree they had no idea was there!

Jeb, I know Avoca very well even thought ( keyword) I had a clear path marked on my map, I do duck hunt the back of it on occassion and 0DARK30 is not a time to hit a tree. Last year I went in no problem but coming out I hit one I was only 5 ft at most off my mark. I agree with you and think often someone will DIE in there. I saw a waker in there saturday and just couldnt watch.

Yeah, there is one good path most of the way to the back. I've scuba dived that cove a lot too, and am sure of the "good" route. But I'd never run in there on plane in the dark, GPS track or not. You're a brave guy to do that!
