woodman Posted September 13, 2014 Author Posted September 13, 2014 Lancer, you are only a few miles away, kayaking is a fitness thing..We paddle Jacomo every Tuesday 6:00 pm... Or come by and see the boats etc..... Going with the heavier stuff this time... POLYESTER 11.6 oz. plain weave * 77" wideThis fabric is tough, you can pull the thread really tight and it doesn't separate the weave..This time doing a different stitch, the double corded stitch..... What ever fabric is used, the hands get tired from pulling and tugging to get wrinkles out......The bow end done, the whip stitch is down the front of the hull.... This is as far as I got yesterday before my hands, neck, shoulders gave out, just have to finish up the stern and trim the inside of the gunnels... http://s147.photobucket.com/albums/r302/scrawford_photos/
woodman Posted September 13, 2014 Author Posted September 13, 2014 How to video..... http://www.kudzucraft.com/index.php http://s147.photobucket.com/albums/r302/scrawford_photos/
woodman Posted September 14, 2014 Author Posted September 14, 2014 I like this fabric, it ought to be real abrasive resistant... http://s147.photobucket.com/albums/r302/scrawford_photos/
woodman Posted September 23, 2014 Author Posted September 23, 2014 Guessing..35 lbs. without a seat.....I ruined the bath scale I had, when building the camper.... I will have both skin Challengers in toe next month headed for Branson... We will be launching on Tablerock... While the wives are shopping John and I will be paddling fishing etc.... Too bad the water temp on Tannycomo is too deathly cold, need a good breathable dry suit for that..... http://s147.photobucket.com/albums/r302/scrawford_photos/
woodman Posted October 18, 2014 Author Posted October 18, 2014 Finish pictures.... http://s147.photobucket.com/albums/r302/scrawford_photos/
woodman Posted October 18, 2014 Author Posted October 18, 2014 My friend John, I designed it for.... And me in the narrower challenger.. http://s147.photobucket.com/albums/r302/scrawford_photos/
woodman Posted October 20, 2014 Author Posted October 20, 2014 I simplified the pulleys, the switch back created to much drag.... Added some screen door pulleys... http://s147.photobucket.com/albums/r302/scrawford_photos/
