I'm going down to Eminence next weekend for an annual campout. With the forecast in the mid 70s, I figure that we'll get on the river. Probably Alley to Circle B in Eminence. What would be one or two lure styles to take that would be my best bet (I'm planning on a very, very light load for the float--one ultra-light, a couple lures)? Would a crank be my best bet?

I don't have a lot of experience with late fall fishing, so any comments would be appreciated.

And for anybody that's been over there recently, How's the water looking?

Soft plastic worked deep on 1/8 oz jigs, either tubes or crawdads worked well last weekend on the Smallie section of the 11PT. Deeper holes when water slows down or tailouts. Cool weather has driven them out of the riffles for the most part.

Myself and 3 friends floated the Jacks Forks two weekends ago and did well with tubes jigs, pumpkinseed and watermelon colored. Had the best luck around logs in slower water.

The water water will be ulraclear. I always throw a white super fluke. It will work. The trouble with jigs on the jacks fork, is that they will invariably get hung up in the rocks. This will happen over and over again. It will not happen with an unweighted fluke.

You've been so advised.

Thanks everybody for the replies. I've fished the hell out of green bitsy tubes the last couple years, so I want to try something different--but of course if I'm not catching fish I know I can always fall back on that.

JoeD- Super Fluke in White Pearl? 5 Incher? What hook works best with them? (Never used those before)

Something like this?
