If you dont want to trade for a spotted owl, Ive got an even better deal. How about my Pileated woodpecker. I put some white paint on him. He looks just like an Ivory billed woodpecker. Every couple of years I take him down to

arkansas and let him fly around. It really stirs them up down there!

they are easy to fool down there,it sure boosts tourism

I had a recorded call of my own? All kidding aside, the call of the Ivory Bill sounds like a cross between the call of the Passenger Pigeon and the Carolina Parakeet, I mixed those two and played them, that also accounts for the reports of ZZ Top music coming out of the deep swamps at nite down there. I didnt get the whole CD erased when I re-recorded over it.

Well I'm glad all kidding is aside.

I always thought pecker woods were the natural habitat for ZZ Top so that all makes perfect sense to me.

We see a lot of those on the Gasconade here around home while gigging in the winter. Last year there was a mud flat near Vienna, MO that was loaded with them! I've seen them a few times in the past but never like that. It was pretty cool!

AGFC studies the Hellbender pretty intestively in the Eleven Point, here's a link to a show they did showing a little of what they do..This video has some fishing footage in it to, but the hellbender portion is on the back half.
