nxs Posted November 12, 2012 Posted November 12, 2012 So is the rain and cooler weather going to shake things up and move them up?
Dutch Posted November 12, 2012 Posted November 12, 2012 My guess is they will stay the same of go a bit deeper. I'll know more after Wednesday.
straw hat Posted November 12, 2012 Author Posted November 12, 2012 Dutch has got it right. They will probably be 25 to 35 feet and the good news is that with the colder weather their will probably be a few more move into the bluff and join those already there.
nxs Posted November 13, 2012 Posted November 13, 2012 I figured as much seeing as how I don't like fishing that deep.
straw hat Posted November 14, 2012 Author Posted November 14, 2012 I hit the bluffs today again. Much slower. Vertually no wind. The 6 keepers I managed to catch were all 30 to 34 feet deep. Caught most on bottom bouncing rigs right tight to the bottom. Water temp was 57 and slightly stained.
Dutch Posted November 15, 2012 Posted November 15, 2012 Yep they moved deeper but they bit pretty good for us.
Members fishingwhitemike Posted November 16, 2012 Members Posted November 16, 2012 didn't get to fish much while working on j hwy bridge. maybe couple of hours after work. fished yesterday till about 1 and did better than I thought I would. 1 pushing 5#. all on jig. love this lake. seen 2 other boats
Dutch Posted November 16, 2012 Posted November 16, 2012 I'm not familiar with J Hwy in that area unless it is toward Caplinger. I'm also guessing you weren't crappie fishing.
Members fishingwhitemike Posted November 16, 2012 Members Posted November 16, 2012 dam area. no crappie all bass
Dutch Posted November 21, 2012 Posted November 21, 2012 Well straw hat, I got back out and I think that little front closed them up some. I managed a limit but it took most of the day and they were not to be found in my old spots. This weather coming is going to make it a manly thing to go fishing for the next several days.
